BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
Bill Rivers and Dawn Mendonça live
and operate as artists in the small town
of Tomar, Portugal. Painting, photography,
video and music are their elected means
of expression.
With The Idiot Sociiety
they explore the absurd, the grotesque and
the divine which can be observed in daily
lives.
Building their melodies
over mostly electronic rythms, while nodding
to some of their musical heroes, "Zorba
the Buddha Part 1" is a parade of characters,
and their personalities, disguised as songs.
Simple yet witty and catchy songs, delivered
through the voices, and the cumplicity,
of Bill and Dawn.
They are not idiots.
Society is. Maybe that's why they end the
album with "Jungle Song": "I
want to live in the jungle, eat and play
with the animals...".Fortunately they
don't and make such great songs. For our
delight.
